xp and vista have the same tool... start/run type in msconfig go to the startup tab and disable any startup program you want
The msconfig tool. To do this, type into the start menu msconfig and press enter. Go to the startup tab and uncheck the ones that you don't what to run on windows startup, once you've finished, click ok and reboot windows
