4L60E
automatic is apart of the transmission manual is on the clutch pedal master cyl shaft
If it was built in the LATE month of 1999 and does NOT have the 5.7L 350 in it then yes it will fit. If not then you will have to stay above the year 1999 to get 1 to fit.
This will not bolt in without major modification
Chassis Engineering Inc has a kit to install a motor, transmission and rear end into a 1951 chev truck.
NO IT WILL NOT, IT IS ALL DIFFERENT.
Answer: Transmission DipstickThere is not a dipstick for the transmission on a 2001 chev. cavalier, you can check the transfer fluid and it is located underneath the master cylinder.Motor T Mechanic- USMC
The ONLY transmission you can use in that year is a 4L60E if it is a 1/2 ton and a 4L80E if it is a 3/4 ton BECAUSE of the COMPUTER SYSTEM on the truck.
That would be the 4L60E transmission. There is ONLY 2 years that will work in that truck and they are 1996 and 1997
If it has one it would be driven off of the accessory belt.
YES
If it is a 2-wheel drive then it is on the transmission tail shaft housing. If it is a 4-wheel drive then it is on the transfur case.

It should be the 700R4 transmission.
No, it was a 4 speed. The 3 speed could be ordered in the truck. But saying that, things in those days were not always set in stone. It may have been possible to order that as an option, but I have never seen one.
yes
You will have to call a parts store for the price. I have a Chev car and it was $18 and I have a Chev truck and the sensor was $ 100.
YES.
It truly depends on the trans - auto or manual? Chev or Dodge? However, if you can go forward but reverse is gone, you have broken parts in the transmission. Really common on some GM's. Dan the tranny man
