The town was Concord, Massachussetts made famous for being the site of the second armed conflict between British soldiers and coloninsts. Although the British destroyed solonial supplies in many towns, Concord is famous for it because that is what they went there to do.
They sent supplies and, after the victory at Saratoga, sent military support. France also blocked the British Ports of supplies forcing the British to eventually surrender due to starvation.
In April of 1775, the purpose of the march from Boston to Concord (Massachusetts) by the British unit involved was twofold. According to their explicitly written orders, the British troops were to uncover and destroy arms that had been reported to be hidden somewhere in the town. Per oral instruction given to the commander, they were also to locate and arrest various patriot (or, rebel) leaders who were rumored to be hiding in Concord.
During the events leading up to the Battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775, the British forces were primarily searching for hidden military supplies, such as weapons and ammunition, that the American colonists had been stockpiling in preparation for a potential conflict with the British government. The British hoped to seize these supplies to prevent the colonists from using them to resist British authority. Additionally, the British were also aiming to capture key Patriot leaders, such as Samuel Adams and John Hancock, who were known to be in the area.
Army - traning Army - supplies Navy - size and strength Supply Lines- distance from home morale - reason and will to fight Leadership The British were better trained in their army & its leaders. Years of training. They had great uniforms. The uniforms did make it easy to spot them. haha! British had more money for supplies. British had ships to garner supplies. The British paid their military. The Americans adapted their tactics to fit conditions. The British marched in line making it easy from behind trees to pick them off. The British never adapted to change in fighting. The Americans fought for freedom & had a cause. Short of supplies the Americans learned to use of materials. Americans blocked British ships from docking. American leadership like General Washington inspired troops. On paper, the British should have won but Americans have proved themself to be resourceful.
British Military Fitness was created in 1999.
The reason New France was is such a difficult military position is because the British could cut off New France's supplies. Also New France was surrounded by the British (who was in the North) and New England (who was in the south). So New France wanted more land so they went to war with the British.
