dex - cool orange coolant ,any coolant flush
The flush valve for the radiator on a 1999 Buick Century is located on the bottom of the radiator near the vehicle's frame. When it is loosened, the coolant will slowly drain from the vehicle.
The radiator on a 98 Buick Century is flushed by turning the petcock to drain the coolant. Water is then flushed through the system until all contaminants are removed.
To actually "flush" the coolant in this vehicle you will need a flush machine. To do that we did at the dealership, drain the radiator (you need a 1/4 inch ratchet and 1 inch extension) then use a vacuum fill too to fill with new coolant.
If there is a bleeder valve, it would be located at the top of thermostat housing
You dont Take it to a qualified mechanic for a flush and they will dispose of the old coolant You dont Take it to a qualified mechanic for a flush and they will dispose of the old coolant
If you waited until the coolant is brown you waited too long. Have the system professionally flushed at that point.
total coolant capacity of 3.8L buick regal custom? doing a radiator flush so i need to know how much coolant to buy
Not the motor, but the wash contains detergent that is not good in the coolant fluids. You should drain and flush the coolant system and replace it with water and antifreeze mixed to the recommended proportions. Do this as soon as possible, if you have indeed used screen wash instead of antifreeze by mistake.
I would recommend you drain it out, flush the system, and install the correct green coolant that Ford recommends. Using the wrong coolant can damage parts.
Disconnect lower radiator hose if you can not find the drain valve. Drain water and antifreeze and flush it out good. Reconnect hose back up. Then add a gallon and 1/3 of anti freeze then finish with water.
If you mean CLEAN antifreeze, the answer is no. Hydrometers are used to check if still OK. Also a good idea to flush radiator and add new coolant twice a year, in spring and fall.
No, antifreeze is green or pink. If your antifreeze is brown (its rust) you to flush and clean your cooling/heating system. No, antifreeze is green or pink. If your antifreeze is brown (its rust) you to flush and clean your cooling/heating system.
