That's the keyboard where you type text into the computer.

By computer logic, the keyboard, mouse and screen are not considered actually part of the computer, they are external devices just as much as a memory stick is. Hence the term "keyboard device".
Similarly, the mouse or touchpad is a "pointer device" and the screen a "display device".

A computer keyboard is analog, it works because when you press down the 'key' it presses a mechanism that then presses a switch, which turns the 0 of key not pressed, into a 1 of key pressed then it is sent to your computer via a wire
