Usually, a small 2-stroke engine wouldn't have any oil put in it directly at all. It would have a certain percentage of oil mixed into the fuel instead.

There is no such thing as engine oil changes in two stroke motorcycle engines. The two stroke oil serves to lubricate the engine as it is mixed with gasoline. For the gearbox, on the average a yearly change of gear oil is sufficient.

If the Ryobi is a 2 stroke engine you must use 2 stroke oil and never use 4 stroke. But you ask about 20w50 oil which is confusing. 2 cycle engine do not use multi-vicosity oil. Any 2 cycle oil can be used in your Ryobi if it is mixed at the correct ratio.
