What education or training do you need to become a video game designer?

Depends on your role in the design processIf you want to be the guy who writes the code to do all that cool stuff, then a fair amount of schooling is required. You'll probably need a software engineering or computer science degree of some kind. There are very few self-taught software coders out there today. But there are other aspects of video-game design that don't require CS or engineering degrees. Graphic artists, for example, are employed to prepare the story boards and other artwork.

computer programing and computer enginering. and i think if our doing like a 3-d sandbox game,physics are handy(my friend says that).If you plan on being the one doing the whole idea of the game and stuff you need to have a good imagination.Well you need a good imagination for just about anything,really.
