Are solar power and solar energy the same?
The term is used to describe either but there is a difference in solar Electricity and solar energy. Solar Energy is a very broad term which can describe Solar electric (PV), Solar Thermal, Solar Heating etc., just about any form of power that can derived from the sun. Solar Power or Solar Electric is generally related to solar photovoltaics, specifically which is taking photons from the sunlight and turning it directly into electrical current. Answer The correct term is solar energy panel, despite the term 'solar power panel' being widely used. This is because solar photovoltaic panels supply energy. The rate at which they supply energy is a measure of their power.
Can a solar panel generate the same amount of energy in winter time If not, what is the solution for that time of the year?

Is a photovoltaic cell the same thing as a solar panel?
It really is. A tiny solar panel collects sunlight, which then creates an electrical current. This current passes through a tiny electromagnet, which cause a switch to be held open so that power can't get to the light. When the sun goes down, power is no longer being created at the solar panel, which in turn causes the electromagnet to stop being magnetized. This causes the switch to close, which then cause current to flow to the light.

How does an audio door intercom powered by solar operate?
It operates exactly the same way as any other intercom. The only difference is how it gets its power. As an example, the intercom at the following site can run on battery power, AC power, or it has a solar power option. Whatever intercom you use, you'll have to consider that an intercom near a doorway may be shielded from the sun so the solar panel will likely have to have a long cord on it. You may be able to find some sort of solar panel you can use to convert any battery-powered intercom to solar. Just look for one that has the right voltage and current output to match the intercom.

Why is angle of inclination important when solar panels placed on the roof of a home?
An effect called foreshortening makes the solar panel appear smaller if you are not looking straight at it. Footbal (soccer) goalkeepers use this effect. They try to force an offensive player to the side of the pitch. Commentators then say that the goal is very small from that point of view. The same is true from the point of view of the sun. If you rotate the solar panel so that the sun see the side of is, your solar panel will become small, it will cast little shadow and it will catch little power.

Choosing The Biggest Solar Panel?
To decide which solar panel to buy, you need to see how large of a panel you can get for your money. This is the most important aspect. You want to get one that is as big as you can find since it will gather more energy from the sun. If the generic one is the same price for a larger panel, this is often the way that you want to go with your purchase.

Finding Solar Panel Professionals?
Solar panels are a serious investment, and to make sure that investment doesn’t go to waste you’ll want to find the best solar panel professionals to install them that your money can buy. Finding the right solar panel professionals for your job is not a difficult task, provided a few key points are kept in mind. Look for solar panel professionals who are bonded and insured The best way to find a solar panel professional who will do your job right is through personal referrals. If you know anyone who has solar panels installed in their home, ask them who they hired for the installation. Ask if they were pleased with the service they got, and whether they would hire the same solar panel professional again should they wish to expand. If they were not pleased, ask them why. This will not only give you a clear understanding of why this particular solar panel professional might not be right for you, but it could also make you aware of other important factors about your solar panel installation that you had not even considered. If you can’t get a personal referral from a friend, family member, or neighbor, go online and search for customer reviews of solar panel professionals in your area. Qualities to look for in these reviews include professionalism, expertise, and integrity. This means, they must treat you with the respect and attention you deserve, they must know their field inside and out, and they must stand behind their work with more than just their word. Look for solar panel professionals who are bonded and insured, to protect you against future problems (and potential lawsuits). Find solar panel professionals who are in good standing with the local utilities and permitting authorities. And if you can’t find any personal referrals or online reviews, simply ask the solar panel professionals you’re considering for references. In your search, you’ll find two predominant types of solar panel professionals: full-service and installation only. A full-service (or one-stop) solar panel professional takes care of purchasing all the cursory supplies and equipment you need to get your solar power system up and running in perfect working order. You’ll benefit from a full-service solar panel professional’s relationships with suppliers in the bottom line price you’ll pay when all is said and done. With a solar panel professional who merely provides installation services, you would be responsible for supplying all the various pieces of equipment and components. Picking all this up yourself could be a big hassle and cost a lot more. However, if you have purchased an all-inclusive solar power kit, then a top-of-the-line installer is all you need. In short, don’t just choose the first solar panel professional you find or interview. Your home, power needs, and solar investment are all too important.

How much electricity does a solar panel produce per year?
This depends on many factors - the rating of the solar panel (some produce more than others), the location (some places receive more solar hours than others), the direction of the solar panel (in the Northern Hemisphere, South-facing tilted basically at the same degree as the latitude is optimum), etc. So, there's no quick, easy answer to this question. However, to give you a general answer - the typical solar panel installed on homes and businesses is rated at about 200 Watts. A typical panel installed at optimum direction and angle in LA will produce about 290 kWh/year. The same panel at optimum direction and angle in NYC will produce about 240 kWh/year. To do your own calculations, check out the NREL PVWatts Solar calculator listed in the links below.

How do solar cells make electricity?
Solar electric panels are made up of silicon, the same thing that makes up sand. When sunlight hits a solar panel, it makes electrons in the silicon move around. The electrons flow through wires that were built into the solar panel. When the sun stops shining on the solar panel, its electrons stop moving and electricity stops flowing. electricity in the batteries can be used at night, or when the sun is behind the clouds. · If you want to be able to use electricity at night you can attach batteries. · Electricity from a solar panel flows into attached batteries while the sun shines, and then the stored. ·

How does solar energy produce electricity?
Solar electric panels are made up of silicon, the same thing that makes up sand. When sunlight hits a solar panel, it makes electrons in the silicon move around. The electrons flow through wires that were built into the solar panel and hey presto! - we have electricity! Solar energy can produce electricity by the photo-voltaic process (Solar Cell) and can be produce via a heat engine process (Solar Thermal).

What is solar street light?
A solar street light is the same as a typical electric street light; however, it is powered by the sun and is typically grid free. The solar panel provides the energy needed to run the light at night and stores the energy in a battery bank. At night, the photocell (solar panel) sees that there is no more sun available and turns the light on. The light runs during the night using the power provided in the battery bank. Most commercial solar street lights provide up to 5 days of backup storage for cloudy and rainy days.

How does sun generate electricity?
Well what I think is this: The sun gives off heat and light, and like all energy this can be converted to a different type of energy, like electricity. The sun's energy (i think it's light) is captured by a solar panel connected to a solar cell. In solar power stations the solar panel channels the energy to a turbine. The turbine then spins a generator, which transforms the energy from light to electrical. Out of the generator comes electricity. In solar powered calculators, the same happens only it's a lot smaller. My science teacher told me this.
