Caterpillars eat many different kinds of leaves. Some species eat only one or two kinds of leaves, such as milkweed, while other species may eat many different kinds of leaves. They eat fruit tree leaves, lettuce leaves, tomato leaves, and just about any other kind of leaf.
There are very many green caterpillars and each has it's own larval food requirements, so it is not possible to say which kind of leaf a green caterpillar would eat without knowing which kind of butterfly or moth it will become.
Monarch cats eat the leaves of the Milkweed plants. There are many different species of this plant. The latin name for Milkweed is Asclepias. She lays her eggs on the underside of the leaf. She has 2 feet that are tucked under her body, & she uses these feet to "taste" the plant, so she knows that this is the Milkweed plant. This is the only plant she will lay her eggs on. If Monarch cats eat any other plant they will sicken & die. Milkweed is very toxic to predators who would like to eat the cats, so this is natures way of protecting them.
Please check out my facebook called Flowers in Bloom. I had 4 Monarch cats this summer, the Mom laid her eggs on on a small Tuberosa Asclepias Plant that I had recently planted. I have their pics up on the site. There are other sites with that name so look for the gray butterfly on the icon, & that's my page.
They are most likely to be found on lime leaves.
Most types of caterpillar eat leaves but some, like the woolly bear (which is the caterpillar of the clothes moth) eat materials made from natural fibres such as cotton or wool.

snails eat leaves i think not sure but im 95% sure that right Edited answer- Caterpillars are the larval stage of butterflies and moths. They are in general herbivores (a very few species are insectivores) and so feed on leaves and fruits. They are seen by gardeners and agricultural farmers as pests because of the damage they cause due to their enormous appetites.
Ladybirds do not eat leaves. They eat the aphids which eat the leaves.
