Yes, but different aspects of the Earth's motion. A day is the length of the rotation of the Earth (essentially turning around its own axis/center). A year is the length of time which the Earth moves around the Sun. Each time the Earth completes a whole revolution around the Sun, it has rotated approximately 365 and 1/4 times.

∙ 9y agoThe rotation of planet refers to the time it takes for it to make one full rotation around it's axis. On Earth, it takes about 24 hours (one day) for it to make one full rotation.
There are actually two different types of "days": a solar day (the time it takes for the Earth to make a full rotation, from one solar noon to the next solar noon), and a sidereal day (the time it takes for the Earth to make a full rotation, with respect to the stars). While these two measures have similar values for Earth, they aren't identical: a solar day is 24 hours, while a sidereal day is 23 hours and 56 minutes long.
