I know the F15 has a final drive of 3.74, this F15 is found on Corsa 1.6 16v's and Tigra 1.6 16v's for definite and possibly more I.E MK3 Astra with the X16XEL engine may have it.
£1500 to £2500. Ish.
An internal failure of the differential.
Differential oil will work fine dude or even gear box oil.dude

Transfers power from the transmission output to the differential input.
Vehicles with front wheel drive have a straight rear axle meaning there is no gear housing in the rear axle. Vehicles that are rear wheel drive have a gear box in the middle of the rear axle to change the rotation of a drive shaft to turn the rear axle. If you look under a full size pick up truck rear axle you will see a large gear box (typically referred to as a pumpkin) in the middle area of the axle. That is the gear box differential.
I think what your talking about is you final drive gears. They are in your differential. You also have a gears in your transmission.
yes for sure a 1.0 corsa takes about 1.6 ltr of gear box oil from emty
Either gear box is knackerd, or its got the wrong oil in it, if the oil i too thick, it will feel like treacle to change certain gears.
