The American soldiers and Sea Bees were able to run the Japanese out of Alaska or kill them. The Eskimo's were hired to do lookout work for the rest of the war. See link below for more of the story.

The German U Boats were a constant problem in the Atlantic Ocean and rivers like the Hudson. They did strike a few New England States from the sea. Eventually the US and England were able to defeat the German U Boats and send them packing.

There was one U Boat the US was very grateful to claim at the end of the European war. It contained uranium. The uranium was being taken to Japan for their atomic bomb building program. The irony is that the US used the enemy's uranium in their atomic bomb to use on the enemy. Japan suffered from their own uranium.
