Christopher Columbus was a mean greedy man who was only tolerated by many people especially by the king and queen. the only reason queen Isabella gave him the ships was because he waited multiple years until the war was over.
Christopher Columbus was a greedy, arrogant, cruel man who only quested for the Americas for personal gain. Current school systems have portrayed a larger than life image of Columbus. His greed and cruelty are shown in his claim that he was the first person to sight the Americas, since there was a substantial reward from Queen Isabella to the person who spotted new land, when the actual sighter of land was a lookout named Rodrigo. Columbus's cruelty was also shown in his treatment of the natives of the Americas. He enslaved and eventually killed off the original natives of the land he discovered.

Christopher Columbus received a small amount of education when he went to a Monastery until age fourteen. He learned the basics, Latin and Mathematics. During his early sea life, before his voyages to 'India,' he learned astrology and geography. He was a teen during these years.
