Hippocrates' childhood is filled with uncertainty because of how far back it dates to, but he is the child of Heraclides and Praxithea. He learned medicine from his father, who was a physician, until his death. Then he went on to Athens to complete his studies with others including Democritus. When his studies were completed, he went on as a traveling physician passing through many cities.
