Adolf Hitler did not hold a steady job in Vienna, which he moved to after his mother died in 1907. He wanted to become an artist in the Fine Arts Academy, but he failed the test and became majorly depressed. This made him very lazy and carefree until he joined the German Worker's Party in 1919. This eventually lead to the Nazi party, focused on the belief that the German race was dominant of the world and should control it. He advertised this opinion for years and gained many followers, leading to the chancellor position.
Hitler was a corporal in the German army in WW1 and saw himself as an artist, but couldn't get accepted into art school. At one point he was arrested for his political activities in the 20's and spent time in prison. It was in prison he wrote his book MEIN KAUF ( my book). In this book he presented his views of the world and what should be done. This gave him a following which he used after his prison term was over. He formed the "brown shirts" who were mainly a gang and bullies, but Hitler knew how to feed into the German feelings from WW1 about how they had to pay back the other nations for the war. This resentment festered and grew as the German economy got worse, more people lost jobs, and inflation grew.. He blamed the Jewish population for many problems and as more and more people listened to him the more power he gained. He was able to get voted into office and moved up the government until he was finally at a point he could take control. To take control of the government he blamed the communist party and said the German chancellery was communist. He basically overthrew the elected government . The rest is history.

As the undisputed leader of his party he was then able to first pass the enabling act which made him effectively dictator, then ban all other parties, then after Hindenburg's death merge the offices of President and Chancellor into one office, "Führer und Reichskanzler".

That would be stretching a point. Hitler's only living relative (close) at the time of his death was his wife Eva Braun, whom he had married only hours before. And Braun had decided to commit suicide and die with Hitler months before the fact. The other relative of Hitler that committed suicide was his niece Geli, whom he may or may not have had an affair with. She committed suicide, but Geli was at best an "unbalanced" young woman, and it is jumping to conclusion to say that she committed suicide because of Hitler.
