The world was suffering from financial disaster during the 30's. Hitler and many other ignorant and supersticious people believed that it was all being done by the Jews. He had convinced his followers that without Jews, the world's financial institutions would again become profitable. He also thought most crime and other problems came from gypsies so he wanted to kill the gypsies too.

Adolf Hitler's purpose to launch a genocide campaign against Jews in Europe during WW2, makes no sense, of course. Granted that Europe's history from Spain's inquisition days to the rabid hatred of Jews by Martin Luther were ingrained in European culture, no one prior to Hitler carried antisemitism to his unbelievable state.

Hitler's hatred of the Jews and his death camps to end their presence in Europe reveals such a contradiction in his mind, it would seem impossible for anyone to ever have predicted it. His autobiography expressed his hatred, but perhaps people would have better understood his ideas, by simply deported Jews from Europe.

There was nothing to gain for Hitler to do what he did. There is no logic to his actions. Hitler showed himself to be a clever politician and managed to acquire new territory without a war. This takes a certain degree of intelligence. That seems clear. But regarding the Jewish people, how could this clever dictator believe he was eliminating a world problem by genocide? It was mad & demon-like madness, no real purpose was served.
