Jackson hated the Bank of the United States, and got his buddy James Madison over in Congress to try and block it. He thought it was a tool for the elite to overpower everyone else. He did everything to try and get it shot down.
The idea of a national bank was not his but, Alexander Hamilton's. Originally, Jefferson disapproved. He thought that it did not maintain individual liberties. He wanted people to be able to conduct their business how they saw fit, not to control them through the national bank.
Jefferson argued against the creation of a national bank on the grounds that it was un constitutional and nowhere was it stated that congress was given this power
