Medusa wasn't a god. But was known/worshiped/seen as a serpent/snake godess/Priestess. She was turned from her original form into a snake-like person by Athena while she was with Poseidon.
Medusa is not a god. In ancient Greek Mythology, Medusa was a monster who was so hideous that gazing upon her turned onlookers to stone.

She was slain by the hero Perseus.

I'll make this as simple as possible. Poseidon, the sea god, was dating Medusa. Medusa was a beautiful woman at the time. Poseidon and Medusa snuck into Athena's house. Athena caught them together in her house and turned Medusa into what she is.

Medusa is not a god but very important in greek mytholigy.

There is some debate, but most sources describe Medusa(and her sisters) as the daughter of Phorcys and Ceto.

Medusa and Poseidon (god of the seas) had sex in one of Athena's temples, which angered Athena.

I believe you are thinking of medusa.

She had an affair with the sea god Poseidon and was turned into the monster she is known as by Athena.

It was actually a goddess- Athena, the goddess of wisdom. She caught Medusa and Poseidon together in her temple.

Medusa wasn't a goddess. She was one of the three Gordons. However unlike the others, Medusa was human to start with. She began as a mortal, very beautiful. Her beauty captured the attention of the god Poseidon. He raped her in the temple of Athena. Of course that angered the great Athena and so she cursed Medusa to become the terrifying creature was famously known for. Honestly, Medusa didn't deserve her punishment. But fate was cruel.

Athena Hates Poseidon and Medusa

Peruses is the son of Poseidon and he was known for beheading Medusa.

No she was not a goddess it was Medusa before she was turned into a Gorgon.

Athena found her in her temple with Poseidon (god of the sea) which is very disrespectful so Athena cursed Medusa and her sisters who helped her get in to the temple. Only Medusa could turn people to Stone

Medusa said she was so beautiful, even more beautiful than Athena and so Athena turned Medusa into a monster so that whenever the Medusa was looked at she would automatically turn them into stone, even herself, but then the Medusa was cheated on so this made the Medusa even more powerful and more angry towards her husband/Greek god. Then the Medusa was killed by Perseus who is a demigod Greek hero who killed Medusa.)
