The economy was (in the 1700's[the official colony of Georgia had not been established until 1732, becoming the last of the original 13 colonies]) mainly based off plantations (growing both indigo and rice). Slavery didn't come until James Orglethorpe took away the ban on slavery due to constant complaints from the settlers. Cotton didn't come until later, when the cotton gin was invented (1793).

People made livings as blacksmiths, silversmiths, tailors, pottery makers, and farmers.

The farmers grew cotton, indigo, rice and tobacco and they traded and exported all the things that they grew.

Georgia was one of the southern colonies. The economic activities of the southern colonies are tobacco and rice as cash crops. This is correct and i am positive because my history teacher said so.

Also, Georgia grew indigo.

Up to 1750, the colony was producing silk to send back to England. This was not profitable. The Trustees running Georgia, gave the territory back to King George II. From that time on, they cultivated rice and indigo (mushrooms). Later, they would cultivate the sugar cane crops. Prior to 1750, slavery and possession of rum was illegal in Georgia. When the founder and Governor of Georgia, James Edward Oglethorpe, left Georgia, slavery became legal in that colony.
