What was going on in north America during world war 2?
During WWII, Americans were trying to do whatever they could to help out the army. Women took the jobs that men left behind when they went off to Europe to fight. Women helped greatly in the production of suppplies for the war. Children even helped by holding scrap metal drives in order to collect metal to make supplies for the war. The United States was just getting out of the Great Depression. Because so many factories had to produce suppliees for the army, people were needed to do these things. This ment that many jobs were created. People did whatever they could to help make supplies, and help save supplies that may be used for the war.
