As long as you weren't a political adversary or an "undesirable," it probably wasn't as bad as you think.

1. Lots of Propaganda, everywhere you went. Children were FORCED to join the Hitler Youth at age 10, which led to early indoctrination and training.

2. The role of women changed; women were once again expected to be homemakers and have large families, to support the Aryan race

3. Though industry was privately owned, the best workers often got special "rewards" from the government, like free cruises, vacations, bonuses, etc.

4. Health was a big thing; healthcare was free and smoking and drinking were frowned on, while healthy diet and exercise was deemed essential to developing a strong Aryan race.

5. State run press, burning of books against the third Reich, state media, etc.

6. Loss of civil rights, real courts often replaced with show trials; especially for political enemies

7. Concentration camps used to "re-educate" political rebels; both productive and non productive (for the purpose of breaking people down, examples would include moving piles of dirt around) work was done; around 1942 and 1943, a number of these turned into all out death camps, like Aushwitz

8. Strong sense of Nationalism and Community

9. General hatred, and later, violence against Jew

10. Perfect German family (blonde hair, blue eyes, more importantly long faces oval shaped faces and slender noses) killed people who were handicapped or Jewish

11. Children were practically brainwashed: they were fed specific information at school, biased to make the Nazi's look good. Their History lessons centred around how great Germany was, and how it was the fault of Jewish spies when everything went wrong with the economy. They studied "Racial Instruction" from the age of 6. Pupils were taught about the problems of heredity. Older pupils were taught about the importance of selecting the right "mate" when marrying and producing children.

Life in Nazi concentration camps were not easy at all. You can get killed, beat, shot anytime. If you were injured, you were not going to live. They would put your number they assigned you onto the list they had made up for people being sent to the gas chambers if you were in a bad condition.

In Nazi Germany were gay men sent to separate concentration camps from Jews?

Yes, is the simple answer. 'Gay men' in this case means those convicted of homosexual acts, this was a civil, domestic matter. Those convicted were sent to camps in Germany, like Dachau. Jews were sent to the east and when they were sent to camps they were most often in Poland. This does not exclude the issue that some Jews were sent to camps in Germany and some Homosexuals were sent to camps in Poland.

Could history prove a connection between Martin Luther and Nazi Germany?

A:Since Adolph Hitler was a Roman Catholic, any connection that could be found between Martin Luther and Nazi Germany would be unlikely, and tenuous at best. The attitudes of Hitler were more likely shaped by the Catholic Church, so if we must find a connection, this is where to look. Otherwise, accept that Nazi Germany was created by evil men of the twentieth century, and shaped by events of that century, not by a man who lived centuries earlier.
