∙ 16y agoWith the overthrow of the Russian czar during the time of World War I, Russia pulled out of the war. Because the US had previously been weary about entering an alliance without all democratic nations, this allowed the US to step into the war and still be fighting it in democracy.

∙ 11y agoThe Russian Revolution, a revolution during WWI, was originally a revolution to create a Russian Republic, and it gave Americans a view of "civilized Allied countries are all moving toward democratic ways." But since the Bolsheviks took advantage of the instability of the new country, the country was at a civil war between the Red Army (them) and the White Army. Eventually, communist Dictatorship wins and takes over, and the disillusioned Americans now feels that socialist ideas are too radical.
