Predestination
What is the difference between the light dependent and the dark reactions of the calvin cycle?
There was one major difference between John Calvin and Martin Luther. John Calvin thought that God has predetermined who was going to heaven, and who was going to hell, BEFORE the person was born. Luther thought that you achieved salvation from faith alone. Hope this helped ;D
Martin Luther was the one who came up with the modern view of predestination in Lutheranism, which is that people are predestined to heaven, but they are not predestined to hell.Answer Martin Luther was not at all focused on predestination, however, since for him "justification by grace through faith" was the focus of Christianity. Other Protestants, such as Calvin, were much more interested in the idea of predestination, so in Calvinist denominations predestination plays a much more central role than it does in Lutheranism.

John Calvin was an important Reformation leader who taught the ideas of free will and predestination.
Predestination
The Reformation had two branches, Lutheranism and Reformed. Calvin led the Reformed movement. He had an educational institution in Geneva, Switzerland. He also wrote a large set of books on theology called The Institutes. Theological students studied those books for years in order to gain a deeper understanding of Christianity.
"Predestination" was one of the doctrines thought to be true by john Calvin. It teaches that the salvation or damnation of a person is predestine, or in other words, the person is chosen to be condemned or saved by God from birth. this teaching, however, has a rather large flaw: see "The paradox of free will" in the link below for further information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will_in_theology#The_paradox_of_free_will
