What was the great fear during the french revolution?

The Great Fear during the French Revolution was a period of paranoia in the countryside. Peasants expected, yet feared, a monarchical and aristocratic counterrevolution. When they heard certain rumors that the king's armies were on their way over and that Austrians and Prussians were invading, terrified peasants and villagers organized militias. Others attacked and burned manor houses, sometimes to look for grain but usually to find and destroy records of the due dates of land-payments. This Great Fear stirred up this confusion in the rural areas. When such news reached Paris, the deputies at Versailles believed that the administration of rural France had collapsed.

The arms race was an important part of the Cold War between America and Russia. The war led both countries to produce a stockpile of nuclear weapons which resulted in a great fear. Years later in 1986 the Reykjavik meeting took place between President Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, leader of the Soviet Union. What happened after the storming of Bastille?

In 1789, during the storming of the Bastille, there were 7 prisoners. The Bastille represented royal authority and this was exactly what the French people wanted to rid themselves of. Also, it was randomly known there was a lot of gunpowder stored in the Bastille and since the people feared that King Louis XVI was planning a counter revolution, they wanted to arm themselves against the foreign troops that they thought Louis had ordered from abroad. The French saw it as a victory when they freed the 7 prisoners and tore down the Bastille. They conveniently forgot the fact that among them were 4 forgers, 2 lunatics and 1 pedophile.

What led to the storming of the Bastille and therefore to start of the French Revolution?

Inequalities between the Third Tstate and the other two estates, as well as hunger and poverty, led the Third Estate to attack the nobles and demand a new constitution.
