In practice, though, there was a belligerence to these values that indicated simple ingratitude and laziness - criticism of material values, for one, was a euphemism for wanting items without having to pay for them; pacifism applied only to opposing American involvement in Vietnam, not to opposing Soviet-Red Chinese-North Vietnamese involvement.
