the desert war happened in mesopotamia which is present day Iraq, and in palestine which now presnt day Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and other countries by the medditteranean sea. in ww1 these lands all belonged to the ottoman empire or trukey. They joined on the side of Germany but were soon attacked by british forces that were superior to the Turkish army. The Turks were steadily pushed back until the end of the war, when turkey signed an armistace.
