In the post-World War II era, the 'Marshall Plan' was vitally important for a number of reasons. For one thing, it enabled numerous world-nations (particularly in Europe) to recover from the war more rapidly than they otherwise would have, which enabled political and economic stability in an otherwise turbulent age. For another thing, it deepened the positive relationship between the United States and many members of the world-community in such a way as to provide alliances and associations that proved important in the initial Cold War period.
The significance of the Marshall Plan of 1947 was the extreme containment of communism.
By proposing massive and systematic American economic aid to the war-torn countries of Europe, the U.S. gave away about $13 billion in aid which helped a rapid renewal of chemical, engineering, and steel industries as well as raise the gross national product index of the countries helped.
America's reasoning for doing all this was because Truman really hated Stalin, and as a whole, the U.S. was terrified at the thought of communism lending a hand to the weak and tattered governments then taking over.
Effected by the United States after World War II, the Marshall Plan produced the quite important result of building up nations shattered during the war. It did so quite quickly, as well. This led to other positive results: the United States was viewed very favorably by many nations (and established alliances on that basis), and Europe soon became a formidable barrier to further expansion by the Soviet Union.
In officially ending the policy of isolationism, the Marshall Plan established the postwar involvement of the US in Europe. This was necessitated by the competition between the US and the USSR (capitalism and communism) for world influence.
Rebuilt Western Europe after the War and "stopped" the spread of communism.
As an unintended consequence, it built European and Japanese industries, which in turn hurt American industries
Kept many nations of War Torn Europe from resorting to Communism to help rebuild itself. And that is just saying the least. There should be a 30 foot monument erected to George C. Marshall somewhere - one of the most altruistic and dedicated American public servants who ever lived.
The effects of the Marshall Plan include helping to rebuild the economy. It also stopped the spread of communism. The plan was in operation for four years.
The Marshall Plan lasted four years and started in 1948. It was set in motion to aid Europe. The plan helped to rebuild Europe and to prevent another war from breaking out.
One of the successes of the Marshall Plan was that it stopped the spread of Communism in countries that were not taken over by Russia in Europe after WWII.
