What was the factory life like for Canadian women in World War 2?

It was labor. For some it was a new experience, for some it was

a patriotic contribution, for some it reprented economic freedom,

for some it was an opening toward equality. It was a way to improve

their living standards. For a few it was an escape. In any case, it

was probably a drudgery, a dangerous activity and for a few at

least it was an opportunity to put bread on the table. It was

labor.
