The first game published in the LEGO Star Wars series was "Lego Star Wars: The Video Game", which was released in April 2005. It is based on the prequel trilogy of Star Wars Movies, covering "Episode I: The Phantom Menace" through "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith", although it does contain a short bonus segment from the original Star Wars movie ("Episode IV: A New Hope").
The initial release in April was made for the PC, Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox, and Nintendo Game Boy Advance. Versions for the Mac operating system and the Nintendo Game Cube were released in later months.
In addition to being the first of the Lego Star Wars games, "Lego Star Wars: The Video Game" was the first game in the TT Games Lego game franchise.
