A second atomic bomb, codenamed "Fat Man", was dropped on another major Japanese city - Nagasaki - 3 days later at 11:01AM on August 9, 1945.
Both cities were destroyed and suffered casualties into the hundreds of thousands (last estimate was somewhere between 300,000-350,000 - it's impossible to know for sure as many as 70,000 may have been vaporized).
