In 1909, an organization called DELAG stated an airline service to carry passengers. DELAG stands for Deutsche Luftschiffart Aktien Geselschaft. The service was limited for travel around the Germany region & was a great hit among rich tourists.
Scheduled passenger services were latter started by Silas Christofferson in California in 1913. In 1914, another scheduled passenger air service St. Petesburg-Tampa airline was started.

On 7th April 1922 a Daimler Hire Ltd. operated aircraft collided with a CGEA operated aircraft, killing all passengers that were on board both aeroplanes. Both aircraft were using the same road on the ground as a guide in poor weather conditions.
