What is the name of the first space dog?
That depends on what you mean by "space dog": Dezik and Tsygan were the first dogs to make a sub-orbital flight on July 22, 1951. Laika, became the first living Earth-born creature (other than microbes) in orbit, aboard Sputnik 2 on November 3, 1957 Space is assumed to be beyond the oxygen layer. Laika was the first dog to orbit the space. Sub-orbital flight is not an orbiting or space voyage, which needs to surpass the oxygen and ozone layer to be called space.
