Very good compared to a fixed wing (airplane/jet) crash. Choppers flew low and slow. Fixed wing aircraft usually impacted at high speeds. The only bad part about surviving a chopper crash, was now the crewmen had to fight as infantrymen (grunts); surviving that experience was another story.
airport firefighters are referred to as crash firefighter they respond to calls within the airport or if they have mutual aid agreements they respond out side the airport as well. they are trained in how to fight fires on planes and how to handle jet engine fuel.
alot if a person is killed in a crash they are dead usually before anyone arrives thoise that are not killed in the crash but die after someone else has arrived on the scene, die because of the crash not in the crash as an emt and firefighter, we actually save more than we loose
The countries that were actually "physically" involved, and were bombed or had US aircraft crash into them, whether they were "officially" in the war or not, were: Lao's, Cambodia, North Vietnam and South Vietnam.
