im guessing this is for a school related task, is that true? well anyways circulated money within the US was extremely low, to the extent the families around the country were dying of starvation. this was due to the stockmarket crash of 1929 by the way. depression and disease was widespread across the country and jobs were obviously scarce. now thats my brief summary if you need more than just check wiki they probably go more in depth.
