No Sherlock Holmes did not own a dog. However, he is rather fond of Toby, a bloodhound that he occasionally borrows for tracking. The other main canine would be the one in The Hound of the Baskervilles. Dogs play a key part in a couple of other stories, including Silver Blaze and The Adventure of the Missing Three-Quarter.
