Church Of England
in the 1500's because king henry V111 wanted to divorce his wife but the catholic church didn't permit it. So because henry was king he set up the curch of England. This is also why Queen Elizabeth is currently head of the church of England
Henry VIII set up the Anglican church when the pope wouldn't give him a divorce.
No Henry VIII didn't create the protestant church it was Martin Luther in 1517 Henry VIII only made it officialMArtin Luther actually set up the lutheren church though !
It depends how you look at it. Henry was a Catholic until the Pope refused to grant Henry a divorce. So Henry set up his own church, the Church of England, with Henry being in charge of it.
Well the church is founded on Christ. However the organisation of the Anglican church was set up by King Henry VIII of England.

Henry's excuse was that Henry wanted to have a divorce from his first wife. But,the Pope did not allow divorces so Henry set up the Church of England where they believed in God but did not follow the Pope.
King Henry VIII established The Church of England (the Anglican church). Like the protestant church it was a separation from Roman Catholicism, but it was created under different circumstances. There is some disagreement if the Anglican church should be considered protestant or catholic seeing as it contains parts of Catholicism that Protestant religions disagree with, but also disagrees with Catholicism on some of the same points as Protestant religions. Regardless, the Anglican church considers itself a separate entity entirely.
Because that is the way Henry VIII set it up. The King or Queen is the head of the Church of England and the Archbishop of Canterbury serves at the pleasure of the current ruler of England.
The Act of Supremacy, which set up Henry VIII as head of the English church, was enacted in 1534. Henry broke away from the Church of Rome because he went to the Pope to ask for a divorce from his first wife Catherine but the Pope would not perform the procedure. As a result Henry left and set himself up as head of the church in England.
