According to late Frank Lorimer- around 140 405 000 people on the first of January of 1914 in the territory that was the USSR in 1930s. Based on corrected (by Lorimer) Volkov's estimates, there were around 142 388 600 living in the territory that later was the Soviet Union in 1930s. According to original estimate by Volkov (that is without some terrorised, such as Khiva and Bukhara), there were around 139 912 700(20 445 000 in urban areas and 119 467 700 in rural) people in the territory that was later the USSR in 1930s. According to a Sviet Statistical book, which is often translated as "National Economy" that was published in 1965, in the end of the year 1913, in the territory that was the Soviet Union in 1930s, lived around 139 313 000 (24 820 in urban areas and 114 493 000 in rural) people, while at the same time, but at the same time in the total territory of the Soviet Union(1960s territory), there were around 159 153 000 (27 452 000 in urban and 130 701 000 in rural areas) people living there, so the number of people living in the territories that the USSR occupied during the Second World war in the end of 1913 was around 19 840 000. According to late Professor Prokopovitch there were around 139 300 000 (24 700 000 in urban areas and 114 600 000 in rural areas) people living in the territory that was the Soviet Union in 1930s. According to Jean-Noël Biraben's estimates, in 1914 there were around 161 900 000 people living in the territory that was later the USSR(in 1960s).
