The Scarecrow has a heart... he is lacking a brain, The Tin-Man is the one who is without a heart. He's wicked ex/dead girlfriend/ slave driver Nessarose, (the Wicked Witch of the East) shrunk it with the Grimmerie when he told her he didn't love her, but rather G(a)linda.
Bleak, stark, survivalistic versus lush, magical, mysterious is the comparison between Kansas and Oz in "The Wizard of Oz."Specifically, the Kansas sequences take place on the environmentally stressed Great Plains. Life is led in survivalistic mode and organized by practical concerns. In contrast, are the lush landscapes, magical powers and mysterious personages that populate the enchanted lands of Oz on the other side of the rainbow.
Children of elementary school age and the young and adventurous at heart are ages for "The Wizard of Oz."Specifically, that age group now runs from 5 through 11 years old. But at the time of the writing by author and Oz series originator Lyman Frank Baum May 15, 1856 - May 6, 1919), the audience may have included younger ages. Children in the author's socio-economic class benefited from private tutors well before any schooling at academies and boarding schools.

Well Wicked is sort of about wat happend in oz before Dorothy and toto, ect. It includes characters, most of them might be familure to you, such as the wicked witch of the west and G(a)linda and a few others, but some characters are new. -x-x-x-x-x- Wicked is the story of the Wicked Witch of the West and her friendship with G(a)linda the Good. It's about how she came to be "wicked" and why she is green, about her frienship and love, and tells how the tinman got turned to tin, why the scarecrow became a scarecrow, and why the lion is cowardly. The story show characters in a different light than the Wizard of Oz does, showing Elphaba(the wicked witch of the west) as more of a protaganist and the Wizard of Oz as more of an antagonist.
