There were many battles between Athens and Sparta. They also fought on the same side several times. There was a war between Athens and its allies and Sparta and its allies, which we now call the Peloponnesian War (431-404 BCE) for no good reason, as it was fought throughout the Mediterranean from Sicily to Asia Minor. It contained many battles. Did you have one in particular in mind?
The sea battle of Salamis 480 BCE in which Sparta led the combined Greek fleets to victory over the Persian fleet, and the land battle of Plataia in 479 BCE in which Sparta led the combined Greek armies to victory over the Persian expeditionary force and its Greek allies.
An adverse one was the battle of Leuctra in 379 BCE where Sparta was defeated by Thebes and, with the severe manpower drain of the previous century of warfare, faded away as a military power.
Nowhere. The big clash between these armies never happened.Only smaller ones, mere incidents.
The conflict between Sparta and Athens is known as the Peloponnesian War .

only the Athens the Spartans had no trade (they were a milatary place)i got this from my text book
Sparta was stronger on land, Athens stronger by sea.
Well the country of Sparta no longer exist's but the capital still does, the country of Sparta was around until the year 1834 when a war between Sparta and Greece ended up with Sparta being absorbed by the rest of Greece
I would say probably Sparta. Sparta was famed for being an extremely militaristic state. Men were trained to fight at a very young age, and great emphasis was placed on military honor.Another view:The Spartans could normally field 5,000 armoured warriors, but each one was supported by 7 light infantry/bowmen.Athens could normally field 10,000 armoured infantry, with 5,000 light infantry. As they didn't fight each other without allies, it is difficult to call which army was 'bigger' when it came to comparing real strengths.
One's preference for living in either Sparta or Athens of ancient times must depend very much on one's own particular values and principles. Those who most admire social stability, military excellence, and a strict, fixed code of conduct will likely prefer Sparta. Those who place more emphasis on individual choice and initiative, artistic and philosophical excellence, and fluid codes of conduct will likely prefer Athens.
The battle of Thermopylae took place between Sparta and Persia in 480 BCE. King Leonidas of Sparta led the troops and died in battle.

SPARTA: best military in greece, and defeated athens. Not a great learning community, and trained for war almost constantly. ATHENS: The best place to go in ancient times, a luxurious place for citizens. Hope I helped:)
they arnt in the same place
The Battle of Salamis took place in the strait between Piraeus and Salamis Island, an island in the Saronic Gulf near Athens.
At the risk of sounding like a smart aleck, it was fought in Peloponnese. The Peloponnesia War was principally between Athens and Sparta. Sparta is located in Peloponnesian Greece, which is the large southern peninsula of Greece. Additionally, battles took place at Athens, along Grecian coasts, and among territory held by both the Athenian and Spartan empires.
it was in the main part of ancient Greece like Athens or Sparta
