Apparently the native Americans were holy people and wanted to get along. Then the Puritans arrived and claimed the N A's land as their own. This upset the Native Americans and the hatred begun.

∙ 11y agoThis was a war of ideals. Puritans could be classified as religious extremists (in modern terminology) and they held a belief that you were "a godless heathen" if you did not believe as they did. Francisco de Vitoria in Relectiones Theologicae (Part 2: 1536) describes this as an attempt by religion to claim a "holy war" or "Divine Dominion" over them (the Native Americans). He also outlines that this is an unlawful attempt to gain property of another, not supported by law (Illegal).
