The protists would have more permeable membranes than those in hypotonic or isotonic environments, allowing more water to enter the cell. and possibly develop a higher salt concentration within the cell, to retain the water within it and not diffuse quickly. Without these adaptations, the cell will become plasmolyzed. Protists in a changing salt concentration will have a semi-permeable membrane in order to keep up with fluctuations in concentration and take in water as it needs, along with a contractile vacuole in order to pump out any unnecessary water it takes in.

Are adaptations a mechanism of living things that enables them to respond to changing environments?

Adaptations are a mechanism of living things that enables them to respond to changing environments. Some of the adaptations include skin, type of legs, tails, digestive and respiratory systems among others.

How does changing the substrate concentration exhibit the same effect as changing the enzyme concentration?

For the enzyme to work, its particles must collide with the particles of the substrate. The more particles there are per unit volume, the more frequent the collisions will be. Thus changing the concentration of either chemical will have the same effect.

How does changing the concentration of a solution affect the kf?

Increasing the concentration of a solute the freezing point depression is increased.

How does adaptations work?

Adaptations work by allowing an organism to adjust and change so that they can survive in a changing environment. This allows the organism to live longer.

What effect does changing the concentration of calcium ions have on the coagulation of milk?

the rate of coagulation increases as the concentration of calcium ions increase.

How does the concentration of the ozone change?

The concentration of ozone keeps on changing with time. It depends on the natural and man made ozone depleting facors.

Does changing the concentration of an acid affect the temperature at neutralisation?

Yes, heat of neutralization is directly proportional to the concentration of the acid. the more the concentration the more the heat emitted at the time of neutralization.
