The standard issue weapon to a British infantryman would have been a Lee-Enfield No.4 bolt-action rifle.
a normal soldiers weapons
306 british soldiers got executed for cowardice in World War One.
It was not a miracle, but it did enable nearly 200,000 British soldiers to escape capture, though without their weapons, and it provided a core of experienced men to expand the British Army. Other than that, there was no great impact.
390 million390 million BRITISH SOLDIERS!! Where did that come from? There were 6-7 million British soldiers who served in WWI [ref National Archives] but not all served in a theatre of war.well then ... how many british soldiers were killed or injured???
The Gurkha soldiers fought on behalf of the British in World War 2. There was a separate 'Gurkha regiment' in British Army. The Gurkha soldiers were very faithful and obedient and they laid down their lives in the battlefield fighting for the British army.
They did support the British in both world wars, providing goods and soldiers to the British. Although "support" may be putting it a bit strongly: India was a colony governed by the British during both wars, and their soldiers were simply transferred to the various theatres of war by the British.
They dug trenches to protect themselves from the weapons of the enemy. Turks vs. British
weapons carriers..........................
They would use the shovels to dig out trenches. If necessary they would dig graves. They would also use them as weapons if it came down to it.
big ones
Be more specific. (Weapons?Which nationality were the soldiers.)

The British helmet used by soldiers during the First World War, also referred to as World War I or The Great War, was a steel helmet which was called the Brodie Helmet. Soldiers wore these to protect their heads as contact between their heads and another object like bullets or melee weapons could prove to be dangerous and life-threatening.
It was not a miracle, but it did enable nearly 200,000 British soldiers to escape capture, though without their weapons, and it provided a core of experienced men to expand the British Army. Other than that, there was no great impact.
The Germans referred to the British as 'Tommys'.
