What were some of Trajan's accomplishments?

• Trajan was not merely a military leader. He also accomplished a great deal for the citizens of Rome. In what can be considered a form of social policy, he started a program to provide financial aid for parents who couldn't support their children. He was known for his building projects that included bridges, roads, and aqueducts. He ordered the construction of a new forum in Rome and Trajan's Pantheon (a temple dedicated to all the Roman gods).

Trajan spent mot of his reign at war. He fought the Dacian wars (101-102 and 105-106). In the second of these wars he conquered Dacia, a kingdom in the area of present day Romania and part of Moldova. In 007 he annexed Nabataea, a kingdom in present day Jordan. In 113-1066 he fought a war against the Persians of the Parthian Empire, during which he conquered Mesopotamia (Iraq) and the two Parthian capitals (Ctesiphon and Susa).

Trajan also built a forum, a market, the famous Trajan's column and roads (the via Trajana in southern Italy and the via Trajana Nova in Arabia Petrea, from the Read Sea coast at Alia Aelana (Aqaba) to Bosra, in sothern Syria). He also create the Alimenta, a charity for orphans.
