well, Edward the confessor didn't really have time to sit down and read a book or something- mind you i don't think books were invented then, but you get the point. so all I'm saying is that Edward's hobbies would be seen as him going to the church every Sunday and praying because he was a holy man and that's how he got his name- he confessed his sins at church in front of his said-to-be god.

Edward the Confessor probably had a very full life since he was the king of England for 24 years. Indeed, he was a religious man of saintly spirit and wasn't considered to be very worldly. Thus, he was nicknamed "The Confessor".

Edward spent his years as king fighting many wars and working hard to keep his nobles from overthrowing him. He was deeply engaged in the politics of his nation. As a male member of the royal blood, he was most likely taught to read and write. Very probably, he was taught to handle weapons and to fight. He was also schooled in the laws somce kings were responsible for settling disputes among ,and passing judgments, on the nobility.

We can't say for sure what his hobbies were, but as a religious man, he probably spent many hours indulging in pious activities. He may have well kept his fighting skills sharp in case he needed them. No doubt, he enjoyed eating and drinking because kings had access to the very best food; and he was probably required to entertain nobles and officials regularly. As with all monarchs, he probably enjoyed his clothes and different possession, because he had access to the very best artisans. Another popular activity of the time was hawking. Nobles and royalty loved their powerful big raptors and took them out frequently. Minstrels and clowns were wonderful entertainment. Since royalty had the best tutors, Edward was most likely well read--it was unusual that a king couldn't read then. He may well have enjoyed riding his horses (royal stables were well maintained with the best livestock) and traveling the countryside or going to foreign countries when the need arose.
