There is a reason why the Spanish wanted to conquer the Inkas as well as the Mayans and Aztecs: Amazingly, beautifully, great cities.

Main cities had architecture beyond any civilization at that time. They did not use mortar or other cement-like pavement, instead by placing each rock in a perfect way they were able to build temples and cities that could sustain earthquakes. Designed in the perfect way they brought out the Spaniards' greed in their eyes.
