Ferdinand Magellan's biggest adversity he faced personally was the fact three of the captains on his voyage were plotting to murder him. His entire crew faced a flurry of electrical storms as they approached the equator.
Magellan also faced as much difficulties. He brought five ships and 120 men.As they were sailing through the Strait of Magellan, one ship mutinied, and turned back. Another ship had to be took apart. When they were sailing across the pacific the men started to get scurvy and there food and water ran out. The only land they saw were two uninhabited islands. When they reached the Philippines the ship, Trinidad, sunk. Then, on 1521, Magellan is killed in a fight with two tribes. The ship that had been Magellan's gets destroyed. The remaining ship, the Victoria, sails on to Portugal. Out of the five ships and 120 men, only one ship and eighteen men survivedbeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
