What were some patterns of trade and commerce among Greek city-states and within the wider Mediterranean region?

With 2,000 Greek city-states scattered around the Mediterranean

and Black seas, the produce - animal, vegetable and mineral and

slaves - was gathered and exchanged by the cities, who also traded

locally to add to the pool of produce.
