∙ 9y agoThere are 3 classes of weapons used in the Battle of Antietam. They are infantry weapons, artillery weapons, and cavalry weapons. Starting with Infantry weapons: .69 caliber, smoothbore musket, 1842 Springfield (rifled), Enfield rifle, Richmond musket, and the Springfield rifle-musket. The artillery weapons were: 10-powder Parrott, 12-powder Howitzer, 12-powder James, 20-powder Parrott, 24-powder Howitzer, 3-in. Ordnance Rifle,32-powder Howitzer, 6-pdr. Gun, Blakely, Napoleon, Naval Howitzer, Whitworth. Last but not lest the cavalry weapons: Burnside Carbine, Colt Army Revolver, Enfield Saddle Ring Carbine, Saber and the Sharps Carbine.
