Joan was a female in a male dominated army. Joan was still a teenager while most soldiers were older. Joan was a peasant while most soldiers came from nobility. Joan was illiterate and could neither read nor write. Joan had no combat experience nor any military training Joan had no money and had to beg others for her horse, clothing, armour and weapons. Joan was small of stature, barely 5 feet tall.

Her family was exceptionally poor

She was (obviously) female, and females couldn't serve in the military of France so she had to hide this fact when she enlisted.

Joan of Arc was constantly being spoken too by a number of different Saints who's physical bodies had passed away. Ultimately she had to make sure she didn't openly respond to the Saints because she feared society would deem her insane.

In the end, although she miraculously defended France from an overwhelming force of English, she was still deemed as a witch and Crucified.

Joan of Arc performed her actions for the purpose of saving France by driving the British out and returning the French monarchy to the throne.

She fought for the French and made the English mad. So they betrayed her and burned her. She did this because she heard voices and they were telling her to do this. She thought it was God giving her a special task.

Arc was her family last name or surname. She was a Noblewoman, as a Female Knight surely would be. there was no direct term for distaff armored types-. Joan was a young peasant woman who helped France by leading soldiers against the English. Arc was her surname or family name, like say John of Gaunt. It is evidentally a family name rather than a place name, as there is no town or province called Arc.

Joan had several challenges:
She was female and women were usually excluded from any kind of military service.
Joan was still a teenager and had no military experience.
She was not an athletic person and small of stature, unlike most soldiers.
Many thought she was crazy because she claimed to experience visions of saints.
Joan came from a humble family and had no political connections which are usually needed to enter the army.
She was uneducated and could neither read nor write.
Joan had no money to purchase her armament, horse and other items she needed to be in the army. She had to beg for everything.
