I know that the 2003 Ford f250 diesel was what they call the lemon year. They swiched from a 7.3 to 6.0
The 2006 Ford F2 50 diesel engine might have a bad fuel injector. The injector can cause the engine to not run properly, until the engine warms up.
is this a gasoline or diesel engine if it is diesel you have a bad injector, or the fuel pump is bad if it is a gasoline engine, you could have a bad injector, a bad spark plug, bad plug leads, timing is wrong, bad ignition points or bad distributor cap those are a few to start with
Using a Diesel fuel conditioner would be good for your engine and would not be bad at all.
Oil in a sealed container does not go bad.
If its not pumping.
Yes, never put oil formulated for a diesel in a gasoline engine.
No. there is minimal liquids that can destroy a valve in a diesel engine. For eg) Highly concentrated phispholic acid ect. Bad diesel fuel will run the performance rate down 50-83%.
bad piston rings maybe?
Ummmm. The Ford 7.3L is an International built engine. Ford has used international built diesel engines sense the beginning with the 6.9L IDI up until 2012. The last engine international built and Ford put in their super duty's was the 6.4L. In 2012 Ford said bye, bye to International due to the horriable 6.0L and just as bad 6.4L engines that still have problems to this day and went with a all Ford built 6.7L which is proving to be bulletproof like the old 7.3L's were back in the day.
Yes, petrol/gasoline will severely damage a diesel engine.
could be bad injectors
So far, the 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8. But the old 7.3L PSD is running a tight race with the 05 to 07 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8s. They have been proven to be reliable. The only bad 6.0L PSDs were the 03.5 and 04s. Every Ford diesel made has had some good reliability. If you get an upgraded turbo on the 6.4L and a DPF Delete Kit you are good to go for a high mileage diesel. The 6.9L IDI Ford/International diesel was a great engine. Also, the 7.3L IDI Ford/International diesel engine. The 6.9L IDI and 7.3L IDI didn't have a turbo OR great power, but they were great engines. I am liking the new 2011 6.7L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8 that is in the new Super Duty trucks. It seems like it will be a very reliable and long-lasting high-mileage engine. There really isn't a "best" Ford diesel now days, but the early 6.0Ls and the 6.4Ls are definetly the pieces of sh*t in this round!
